Why choose blinds over curtains

While curtains can add elegance and soften some large environments, blinds offer superior functionality, practicality and are more cost effective.

Curtains or Drapes (usually heavier in fabric than curtains) can reduce airflow and accumulate allergens and mould. Curtains are also difficult and expensive to clean.

Roller blinds come in 3 main fabric types; Blackout blinds, Light filter blinds and Sun filter blinds. Blackout blinds provide nighttime privacy and warmth. Lightfilter allow privacy and filter natural light, while sunfilter blinds reduce harmful UV and provide daytime privacy while allowing views outside. Roller blinds can be mounted within a window frame for a tidy, minimalist look or mounted outside the window frame to reduce light bleed. Roller blinds do not require stack space outside the frame so are often the only option for apartments and offices. Roller blinds can also come with chain-free and motorised options. Combination brackets allow two blinds to be positioned in one window frame; usually a sunfilter plus a blackout, used in conjunction for day/night options.

Venetian blinds allow light-control and total privacy in one window fixture. Venetian blinds come in Timber, PVC and Aluminium. Timber is strong and light, PVC is great for high humidity areas such as bathrooms and kitchens, while Aluminium Venetians have a small profile, which are great for windows with small reveals.
